As a Performance Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the culture, capability and performance of Jetstar’s Airport workforce. Leading a large, diverse and customer-focused team, you’ll drive the delivery of key people initiatives that enable strong engagement, consistent performance, and operational excellence. 

With a visible, hands-on leadership style, you’ll coach and support frontline leaders, embed a high-performance culture, and ensure people processes are delivered with consistency and impact. Operating within a fast-paced, unionised environment, you’ll balance operational priorities with meaningful people outcomes, helping our teams perform at their best every day. 


The core responsibilities of this role will be: 

  • Driving strong team engagement and performance through effective leadership and coaching 
  • Leading the delivery of core people processes including one-on-ones, performance reviews and development planning 
  • Managing performance matters end-to-end, including investigations and disciplinary processes 
  • Supporting recruitment and workforce planning to meet operational needs 
  • Delivering Airport change initiatives aligned to both operational and people priorities 
  • Building strong, trusted relationships with unions, HSRs and key operational stakeholders 
  • Championing employee engagement, recognition, and diversity & inclusion initiatives 
  • Maintaining a strong, visible presence on the floor to support and lead teams in real time 


To be considered, key skills will include:  

  • Proven people leadership experience within a large, complex or industrial environment 
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, develop and lead high-performing teams at scale 
  • Strong experience managing performance, including investigations and disciplinary processes 
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, particularly within unionised environments 
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and build trust at all levels 
  • A proactive, resilient mindset with a strong focus on continuous improvement 
  • Confidence interpreting and applying HR policies, procedures and Enterprise Agreements 
  • Strong systems capability, including experience with HRIS platforms such as Workday.
